NEW RELEASES: Nikon D800 DSLR Camera Release Date Set....

New Nikon with uncompressed HDMI out, now that is fantastic in my book!

The GadgetBox from MSNBC reported on the Nikon D800 specs saying, “The D800 offers a 36.3-megapixel FX-format CMOS censor, a 91,000 pixel 3D Matrix Metering system with Advanced Scene Recognition System, and an enhanced 51 pt AF system. The camera’s ISO range goes up to 6400 (expandable in Hi-2 mode). The D800 has support for speedy USB 3.0, dual CF and SD card slots, and uncompressed HDMI out.” The D800 will be available in late March 2012 for approx $2,999.95 for the body only. The D800E version will be available in mid April 2012 for approx $3299.95.

This will be a great rig for anyone who is shooting cross-platform with still and motion photography.

Nikon D4 Digital SLR camera w/ HD Video- Hitting the market in February

The new Nikon D4 Digital SLR camera is ready to hit the market in February, are you ready for it? Looks pretty impressive but also comes with a hefty price tag, estimated retail of $6,000 US. I'd love to get my hands on one to give it a test drive, it's sure pretty.

Some of the specs include:

16.2 megapixel sensor and an extended ISO to 204,800. There is also a new full-frame FX-format sensor.

New EXPEED 3 image-processing engine with superior, high-speed processing capabilities.

Faster and more accurate AF with 51 focus points.

Full-HD movies can be recorded with the D4 using one of three image areas: FX-based movie format*2, DX-based movie format, or 1920 x 1080; 30 fps/25 fps/24 fps crop.

H.264/MPEG-4 AVC video compression method has been adopted. Movies up to 29 minutes 59 seconds.

The D4 is equipped with an Ethernet port and functions for wired LAN connections. In addition, it also supports the new WT-5 (available separately), a compact wireless transmitter that is easily connected to the camera for high-speed transfer of images over a wireless network.

Fashion Photography Production with Wild and Beautiful Models

I recently directed, produced, and shot a fashion photography production in Austin, it was a fabulous shoot with an extremely talented production team. I had my dad ship down some tanned furs, a deer skull with antlers, and a bunch of other "wild" accessories from his private collection in Minnesota to get us started. With a box full of goods, the truly talented Nikki Cloud took the reigns as our fashion stylist and pulled other accessories and apparel from a great line of boutiques in Austin to bring the look together. Our hair and makeup crew from Propaganda polished the look and knocked it out of the park with their mad skills. All together, I'd say it was one of the best productions I've worked on in a long time.

Portraits - Trevin Smith - Radio DJ at 101x in Austin, Texas.

I was recently asked to shoot some studio portraits for 101x radio personality Trevin Smith, the job was gladly accepted. Trevin started his radio career not too long ago and has quickly risen to be one of the very best in the industry, he's has a wealth of music knowledge and his character is top notch. I've known Trevin for about 6 years and feel pretty damn happy that I had this opportunity to collaborate with him, we definitely had a great time.
