So I've been MIA...

As you can see by my blog or the lack of, I haven't had much time to keep everyone posted on what is happening with my life. It's been an interesting winter filled with travel to Minnesota during the coldest months to shoot some "self" projects in sub-zero temperatures, what was I thinking? I've also been working on the rebranding of my portfolio which has turned out amazing! Take a look here...

I also have a new logo!

I'm super excited for 2009 and look forward to making some great strides!

Jerry

I used to drive by Jerry every day as I would go to my studio, he lived under a tarp that was secured down by old rusty shopping carts that seemed to have been abandoned along the road. During the day he would sit across the street from his "house" and watch traffic roll by, never did I see him asking anyone for anything. He seemed content.

Cold winds started to gust so I dropped off a quilt by his "front door" hoping that this gesture would help, not sure if it ever did? A month went by and Jerry was no longer sitting along the road, he seemed to have moved on.

It's been a year since I've seen him...

What would you do to land a job???

As the job market tightens, job seekers are becoming more creative in their efforts to attract the attention of potential employers. One-in-ten hiring managers (12 percent) surveyed by CareerBuilder.com reported that they are seeing more job seekers try unusual antics to capture their attention in 2008 compared to previous years.

Some of the most memorable tactics identified by these hiring managers include:
* Candidate advertised on a billboard.
* Candidate carried around a sign that said, "Will work for paying bills."
Candidate brought a broom to the interview to "clean up the waste and corruption in the office."
* Candidate wore a shirt to the interview that said, "Please hire me."
* Candidate showed up with breakfast for the employer every day until hired.
* Candidate approached the hiring manager in a restroom.
* Candidate sent a giant cookie with "Hire Skip" written in frosting on it.
* Candidate parked outside of the office building with a sign that said, "Seeking employment."
* Candidate wrote a poem about why she wanted the job in her cover letter.
* Candidate promised to give the employer a foot massage if hired.
* Candidate noticed the employer wrote a blog about a particular restaurant. She persuaded the restaurant to put her name on the menu so the employer would see it the next time he ate there.
* Candidate created an electronic resume with flash animation and musical score.

So I ask myself, what can I do to make an impact??

Think about it.

One more...

I've been shooting a bunch of architecture lately and have been enjoying it to the fullest! I love the variations within each design and the challenge of finding the best angle to compliment your available light at that moment. Ahhhhh, the brilliance of design~

Business as Usual.

Here are some business portraits that I've taken within the last couple months. It's been really interesting traveling the country and having the ability to meet so many different personalities within the business arena. Have I mentioned that I love my job?

For all u foodies out there, here are some of my yummies =) I love food!

Flying High with Jesse Knish Photography

Jesse Knish Photography is breaking out in 2008! The acquisition of a 1900 square foot studio space at the beginning of the year has set the stage for the young new photographer to take it to the next level. The studio is located on Woodbury Drive, just off South Congress and behind Penn Field Station. Upgrades to the interior are in progress, resulting in a truly chic industrial space.

Going back to his roots as a renegade street photographer, recently Jesse and his camera stepped outside once again to shoot the Texas Wingsuit Academy. The 24ft ceilings of his studio space were not high enough for this group specializing in skydive instruction, they wanted to go higher- 13,000 feet to be exact. Following his maiden jump, the photographer spent the day documenting every moment of the group’s skydiving endeavors. From going up in a plane and hanging from a harness to get the perfect jump shots to capturing the perfect landing on the ground, he got it all. In addition to some fantastic shots, Jesse also discovered a new hobby! You can check out his adventure as well as other recent projects at www.JesseKnish.com.
